Is it okay to message candidates on WhatsApp?

Yes, once they've said yes. Buddy runs on the official WhatsApp Business Platform: each opt-in is recorded with its source, and every opt-out is honoured at once. Meta's messaging policies apply.

How do candidates opt in?

On your careers page or application form through the website widget, with an opt-in page or QR code at a career fair or in your office, or by importing candidates who already agreed. Your own careers site can also add them with one API call.

How do updates follow each candidate's stage?

Tag candidates by stage, such as applied, shortlisted, final round or offer. When someone moves on, change their tag, and the WhatsApp message and automations you set for that stage reach them by themselves.

Can HR use it for new hires and staff too?

Yes. New hires and staff who opt in can get onboarding checklists and announcements on WhatsApp, in their own audience, apart from candidates. Their replies land in the same inbox.

How does Buddy handle candidate data?
