Why not build on the WhatsApp Cloud API directly?
You can. Buddy runs on the same official WhatsApp Business Platform and adds what you'd otherwise build yourself: consent records, opt-out handling, templates, audiences, retries and analytics, plus an app your marketing team can use without you.
Whose WhatsApp number sends the messages?
Yours. You connect your own WhatsApp Business number to Buddy, so messages arrive under your business name. With Buddy Embed, each business on your platform connects its own number.
Can I test without sending real messages?
Yes. Test keys return the same responses and webhooks as live keys, and never deliver a message to a phone.
What happens if a user replies STOP?
Buddy records the opt-out straight away, sends your app a webhook, and refuses any further marketing message to that person until they opt in again.
Can an AI agent use Buddy safely?
Yes. The Buddy MCP server gives an agent only the permissions you grant, follows the same consent rules as your team, and can ask for your approval before anything is sent.
How is the API priced?
API access is part of your Buddy plan. Meta charges for business messages by type and country, billed to your own WhatsApp Business account.
